Bracket Guru predicts NCAA tourney
I’m a history buff, especially when it comes to my exploits in office pools. This year, I’m going to make more history by giving you my winning bracket in Wednesday’s paper. Last year’s bracket blew up in the first weekend. But in my homage to history, I see three of this year’s regions playing out each in their own way as a nod to recent tournaments.

Refs from Storm’s Big East tourney win over Rutgers blow whistle on selves
Rutgers isn’t the only team that won’t be seen again in this year’s Big East Tournament. The trio of officials who botched the closing seconds of the Scarlet Knights’ loss to St. John’s in Wednesday’s second round – Tim Higgins, Jim Burr and Earl Walton – will not work another game in the tournament.

Red Storm survive scare from Rutgers in Big East tourney, get a little help, too
St. John’s most highly-anticipated appearance at the Big East Championship in a decade began with a test of wills on Wednesday afternoon. St. John’s refused to yield the lead. Rutgers refused to give the Red Storm any breathing room. In the end the 17th-ranked and fifth seeded Johnnies prevailed, 65-63, in the second-round game before a sellout crowd at the Garden.

Fan trio in U.S. Open brawl banned from tennis tourney
Call this one a triple fault: A trio of brawling tennis fans were barred Friday from returning to the U.S. Open until 2013.
