Dutchmen work OT to make title game
Erasmus had to overcome its fair share of injuries while marching toward the PSAL semifinals. Sophomore running back Khalil Lewin had his issues, with a knee injury that sidelined him for five games. But his return to health has given Eramus an explosive option in the latter part of the season, and his talent shined through on one incredible play during the Dutchmen’s biggest game of the year.

Reyes beats out Braun for NL batting title
The Mets defeated Cincinnati 3-0 Wednesday to finish the season 77-85, but the circus revolved around Jose Reyes, his attempt to win the first batting title in franchise history, and his looming free agency. Only one of those reached resolution, after Milwaukee’s Ryan Braun went 0-for-4, clinching the honor for Reyes (with a .337 average) over Braun (.332).

Joey “Jaws” Chestnut maintained pigout primacy Monday, winning his fifth straight mustard belt at the Coney Island hot dog eating contest. Rafa tops Federer for 6th French Open title
Rafael Nadal is still better than the best player of all time, beating Roger Federer for the fourth occasion in the French Open final 7-5, 7-6(3), 5-7, 6-1 on Sunday. Nadal, who equaled Bjorn Borg’s record of six French Open titles and earned his 10th major overall with the victory, dropped to his knees and covered his face after Federer sent a forehand long on match point.
