EPA outlines plans to dredge polluted Gowanus Canal 

The feds are going deep on the Gowanus Canal.

The Environmental Protection Agency plans to clean up the polluted Superfund site by removing all the contaminated muck at the bottom of the canal – rejecting plans that would have left some of that soft sediment in place and covered it up, according to a study released Tuesday.
