Shane Victorino’s one-out double one inning later spoiled Dickey’s bid for the first no-hitter in Mets history, but the Mets still went on to doubleheader sweep of the Phillies at Citi Field. “When Nick made that catch, and with the type of knuckleball I had today, I thought I had a chance,” Dickey said.

Gee loses no-no, but earns win

Mets rookie Dillon Gee flummoxed nearly every Washington Nationals hitter he faced Thursday. He just couldn’t stop the opposing pitcher. The righthander sparkled Thursday afternoon at Citi Field, and he took a no-hitter into the sixth inning of the Mets’ 1-0 win over Washington.

Garza spins Tampa’s first no-no

Matt Garza pitched the first no-hitter in Rays history and the fifth in the major leagues this season, beating the Tigers 5-0 Monday night. Garza faced the minimum 27 batters, allowing only a second-inning walk.
