Yankees postponed, Jeter chase on hold

Derek Jeter’s chances of getting his milestone 3,000th hit in front of Yankee fans were reduced by one-third Friday night when the Yankees and Rays were rained out and the teams disagreed on when to make up the game. Jeter needs two hits to become the 28th member of the 3,000-hit club but he’ll only have two games – Saturday and Sunday – to do it at the Stadium.

Jeter will be in lineup tonight vs. Tribe
