Harper: Rangers had End-y in sights, but Cards look more like ’86 Mets

The irony is that the Rangers have one Endy Chavez as their fourth outfielder. Remember him? His spectacular catch against these same Cardinals should have been the play to put the Mets in the World Series five years ago. Thursday night its safe to say he would have put David Freese’s ninth-inning, game-tying triple in his back pocket had he been in right field for Nelson Cruz.

Harper: Heavy hitter could fit in city

Would a scenario where CC Sabathia leaves, the Yankees lose out on C.J. Wilson and trade Jesus Montero lead the Bombers to Prince Fielder? The potential of the lineup would be tantalizing and, who knows? Maybe Fielder would hit in October as well as his father Cecil did in the Bronx in 1996.
