Plaxico to undergo MRI on ankle Friday
Rex Ryan insisted that he’s not overly concerned with Plaxico Burress’ ailing left ankle, but the team has decided to shelve the mercurial wide receiver until next Wednesday. Burress, who has taken part in limited team drills after rolling his ankle working out on his own a little more than a week ago, will not travel with the team to Houston for the preseason opener on Monday night against the Texans.

Plax, Giants can’t meet until Friday
The planned meeting between Plaxico Burress and the Giants was initially believed to be taking place Wednesday in the New York area. But the transition rules set up by the NFL following the lockout prohibits such meetings from taking place until Friday except for teams negotiating with their own free agents. Burress was cut by the Giants in 2009 and is not considered their free agent.
