Madden: Leyland jockeys for edge

This isn’t Jim Leyland’s first baseball pumpkinfest. The grizzled 66-year-old Detroit Tigers skipper has managed six teams into the postseason, so he’s had his share of satisfaction in a business that can be alternately very rewarding and (ask Terry Francona in Boston) very disheartening. In that respect, Leyland can relate to what happened to Francona.
