Nets topple Celtics, 88-79, for 5th straight win

Maybe the playoff talk isn’t so ridiculous. The streaking Nets picked up their biggest win of the season Monday night, handling the Celtics, 88-79, behind Deron Williams and Brook Lopez. The Nets (22-43) have won five straight for the first time in over three years, sitting 5.5 games behind the Pacers for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

Knicks, Amar’e fall to Celtics at buzzer

In the Knicks’ biggest regular season game in 10 years, no player was bigger than Amar’e Stoudemire but he simply ran out of a time. Stoudemire’s potential game-winning 3-pointer was ruled no good as the Boston Celtics rallied for a 118-116 win.

King James overthrown by Celtics

And so it ends and begins for LeBron James, the Cleveland Cavaliers and a certain floundering franchise in the NBA’s biggest market. The Knicks won’t know until July if the Celtics 94-85 victory represented New York’s biggest win in years but it certainly felt like it.
