Rangers beat Devils 5-2, await playoff fate

The Rangers held up their end of the bargain on Saturday afternoon. They just have to hope for the best on Saturday night. A 5-2 victory over the Devils at the Garden gave the Rangers a 44-33-5 record to end the season, good for 93 points. The Rangers’ playoff dream rest with the Carolina Hurricanes, who entered the day with 91 points (40-30-11), not beating the Tampa Bay Lightning.
