Posada asks out of lineup vs. Red Sox

Jorge Posada’s struggles at the plate have been overshadowed much of this season because of the scrutiny applied to the slow start of his longtime teammate Derek Jeter. But there’s plenty of glare on Posada’s poor hitting. Saturday night Posada was scratched from lineup but Joe Girardi had planned on batting the DH ninth. The Yankees gave no explanation as to why Posada was removed from the lineup.
