Humphries’ tip too late in Nets’ 104-103 loss to Suns
The most anticipated night of the season started with smoke and strobe lights, with Deron Williams emerging to a loud ovation in the Prudential Center. It ended with a heartbreaking defeat. Channing Frye hit a 3-pointer with 6.6 seconds and Kris Humphries’ potential game-winner was ruled no-good at the overtime buzzer, as the Nets lost to the Suns, 104-103.

Pro-Gadhafi forces fight rebels in 2 cities (AP)
AP – International pressure on Moammar Gadhafi to end a crackdown on opponents escalated Monday as his loyalists fought rebels holding the two cities closest to the capital and his warplanes bombed an ammunition depot in the east. The U.S. moved naval and air forces closer to Libya and said all options were open, including patrols of the North African nation’s skies to protect its citizens from their ruler.
